How to Draw a Weaver Ant
Draw a weaver ant in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Left of the middle draw a big egg lying on its side, pointy end left. Leave room on the right.
Tip The pointy end is the chin.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
On the middle of the head draw 2 big egg eyes, a little apart. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide open smile, like a D lying down. Draw a round cheek beside each corner.
Step 4: Bent feelers
Start on top of the head. Draw 2 bent feelers leaning right, each ending in a ball.
Step 5: 3 beads
Behind the head draw a round middle bead, a tiny waist bead, then a big egg bead with a stripe.
Step 6: Little jaws
At the front of the head draw 2 small curved pincers, one curling down and one curling up.
Step 7: 3 bent legs
Under the middle bead draw 3 bent legs going down, each ending in a small foot.
Tip Bent knees, no straight sticks.
Step 8: A big leaf
Under the feet draw a long leaf with a point at each end. Draw a line along its middle.
Step 9: Cheeks and mouth
Colour the 2 round cheeks pink and the open mouth red. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Ginger head and beads
Go over your lines. Colour the head and the 3 beads ginger, around the eyes, mouth and cheeks.
Step 11: Ginger jaws and legs
Colour the jaws, the feeler balls, the 3 legs and their feet ginger.
Step 12: Green leaf
Colour the big leaf green. Your weaver ant is done!
