How to Draw a Stack of Books
Draw a stack of books in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bottom book.
Step 1: The bottom book
Low on your paper draw a long flat box with soft corners for the bottom book, about 2 fingers tall.
Tip Leave room above it for 2 more books and an apple.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the bottom book draw 2 big round eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, eye to eye, and a little oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The middle book
On top of the bottom book draw a thinner flat box, a little narrower, sitting right on it.
Step 5: The top book
On top of the middle book draw a thinner flat box again, a little narrower still.
Step 6: Page edges
Near each book's right end draw a line top to bottom, then 2 thin lines beside it for pages.
Step 7: An apple on top
On the top book draw an apple: a round shape with a little dip in the top.
Step 8: Stem and leaf
From the dip draw a short stem curving up, stopping above the apple. Add a pointy leaf on the right.
Step 9: The floor
Draw a floor line from well left to well right, just touching the bottom of the bottom book.
Step 10: Cream pages, green leaf
Colour the page ends cream and the leaf green.
Step 11: Red book and apple
Colour the top book red, the apple red too, and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Blue and green books
Colour the bottom book blue and the middle one green, around the cheeks and pages. Leave the eyes white. Done!
