How to Draw a Water Balloon Fight

13 steps · Tricky · about 10 min

Draw a water balloon fight in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two heads.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two heads

Draw 2 egg heads, one left and one right, with a wide gap between. Leave most of the page below.

Tip The 2 kids are the same size, at the same height.

  2. Step 2: Faces

Give each head 2 dot eyes, a nose and a smile. Add C ears, starting and ending on the head.

  3. Step 3: Cap and hair

Left kid: a cap with a visor. Right kid: tufty hair from one side over to the other.

  4. Step 4: Necks and T-shirts

Give each kid 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a T-shirt, ending at the right. Right sleeve up!

  5. Step 5: Arms

From each left sleeve draw an arm down to the wrist. From each right sleeve, an arm bent up.

Tip The left kid is about to throw; the right kid is splashed and flings an arm up.

  6. Step 6: Hands

Draw a mitten hand with a thumb bump on each wrist, starting and stopping on the arm lines.

  7. Step 7: The water balloon

In the left kid's raised hand draw a big water balloon behind the fingers, with a small knot on top.

Tip A fat round bottom and a little knot make it a water balloon.

  8. Step 8: Splash and ground

On the right kid's T-shirt draw a bumpy splat with 4 drops flying off. Draw a ground line across.

Tip This kid has just been hit, so the balloon has burst.

  9. Step 9: Shorts, legs and sneakers

Give each kid shorts, starting and stopping at the shirt corners. Add 2 legs, thinner at the ankle, and sneakers.

  10. Step 10: Red cap, yellow T-shirt

Colour the left kid's cap red and the left T-shirt yellow.

  11. Step 11: Blue splash, green T-shirt

Colour the balloon, splat, drops and both pairs of shorts blue. Colour the right T-shirt green around the splash.

  12. Step 12: Pink cheeks, peach faces

Colour the cheeks pink, then the faces, necks and ears peach around them. Colour the right kid's hair black.

Tip Leave the little shine in each eye white.

  13. Step 13: Peach arms and legs

Colour all the arms, hands and legs peach, leaving the sneakers white. Your water balloon fight is done!
