How to Draw Goldilocks

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave the middle of the page for the arms and the bowl.

Step 2: The face

Below the middle of the head, draw 2 round eyes with black dots and eyelashes. Add a nose and smile.

Step 3: Hair and fringe

Start beside the left eye. Draw hair over the head to the right eye. Curve a fringe across the forehead.

Step 4: Golden ringlets

On each side of the head, draw 3 soft curls hanging from the hair, each a little smaller.

Tip Tuck the top curl under the hair. Bouncy curls are Goldilocks's clue.

Step 5: Neck and dress

Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one, draw a dress with a wide hem, ending at the right.

Step 6: White apron

Draw a square bib, straps from its corners up to the neck, and an apron skirt above the hem.

Step 7: Arms bent in front

From each sleeve, draw a bent arm: down and out to the elbow, then in, stopping on the tummy.

Step 8: Two hands

At the end of each arm, draw a mitten pointing in, with a thumb bump. Rub out the wrist line.

Step 9: Bowl of porridge

Between the hands, draw a flat oval rim. From its ends, draw a round U bowl down to the hands.

Step 10: Legs, shoes and ground

From the hem, draw 2 legs thinning down to the ankles, and shoes pointing out. Add a ground line.

Step 11: Yellow hair, cream porridge

Colour the hair and all 6 curls yellow, and the porridge cream.

Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Red shoes, blue dress

Colour the shoes red, and the dress blue around the arms, leaving the apron white.

Step 14: Brown bowl

Colour the bowl brown around the porridge, then go over your lines. Done!
