How to Draw a Wales Flag
Draw a wales flag in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pole and ground.
Step 1: Pole and ground
Draw a tall thin pole on the left, a ball on top, and a ground line from edge to edge.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Draw a wavy top edge, a straight right side, a wavy bottom edge.
Tip Make the flag big. A whole dragon has to fit on it.
Step 3: Head and back
Start at the nose. Go over the head and a pointed horn, down the neck, along the back. Stop there.
Tip The dragon looks towards the pole.
Step 4: Curly tail
From the end of the back, curl a tail out and up. Finish it with an arrow tip.
Step 5: Back leg and tummy
Start under the tail. Draw a bent back leg with a flat paw, then the tummy. Stop halfway along.
Step 6: Lifted front paw
Carry on from the tummy. Draw a leg reaching forward, then the chest and chin. Stop at the nose.
Step 7: Far legs
Start on the tummy line. Draw 2 more legs with flat paws behind. Stop back on the tummy line.
Step 8: The wing
Start on the back. Go up to a point, then scoop down in 3 curves. Add 2 lines inside.
Step 9: Eye and tongue
Draw a round eye with a black dot in it, a smile, and a tongue with an arrow tip.
Step 10: The middle line
Start on the pole, halfway down the flag. Draw a wavy line across. Skip over the dragon.
Step 11: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 12: Green bottom half
Colour the bottom half of the flag green, around the dragon. Leave the top half white.
Step 13: Red dragon
Colour the dragon red, but leave its eye white. Go over your lines. Your Wales flag is waving!
