How to Draw a Waiter

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a waiter in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room above the right shoulder for the raised arm and tray.

  2. Step 2: The face

Below the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes. Add a tiny nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.

  3. Step 3: Hair and fringe

Start on the left of the head. Draw hair over the top, then come back with 3 soft tufts.

  4. Step 4: Neck and shirt

Draw 2 neck lines under the chin. Start at the left one, draw the shirt, stop at the right one.

Tip The right sleeve is lifted up for the tray.

  5. Step 5: Vest and bow tie

Draw the vest's V neck and a curve from each shoulder down to the armpit. Add a bow tie.

  6. Step 6: 2 arms

From each sleeve draw a bent arm, stopping at a narrow wrist, one across the vest and one up high.

  7. Step 7: Fists

On each wrist draw a round fist like a fat egg, with a little thumb bump.

  8. Step 8: Tray and towel

On the raised fist draw a tray with a dome. Hang a towel over the left arm.

  9. Step 9: Belt and trousers

Draw a belt under the vest. From its bottom left corner draw 2 trouser legs, stopping at the right corner.

  10. Step 10: Shoes and ground

Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.

  11. Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck, arms and fists peach, with a pink circle on each cheek.

    Tip Keep the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Grey tray, brown hair

Colour the tray and the dish cover light grey, and the hair, the belt and the shoes brown.

  13. Step 13: Black vest, navy trousers

Colour the bow tie red and the trousers navy, then the vest black around the tie. Your waiter is done!

Tip Leave the shirt and towel white.
