How to Draw a Vintage Camera
Draw a vintage camera in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the camera box.
Step 1: The camera box
Below the middle of your paper draw a wide box with soft corners for the camera body.
Tip Nearly twice as wide as tall.
Step 2: Lens and band
Draw a big lens circle and a ring inside. Add 2 lines from edge to edge, stopping at the lens.
Tip Put the lens in the middle of the box, filling most of its height.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Inside the ring draw 2 big round eyes, half an eye apart. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile and cheeks. Add a short shine curve on the rim, top left.
Step 5: The flash
Near the box's top left corner draw a short stem up, with a big round flash dish on top.
Tip Half as big as the lens, with a small bulb circle in the middle.
Step 6: Button, knob, window
Near the top right corner draw a small button and a wider knob on top, and a little window below.
Step 7: The tripod
Under the box draw a block with 3 legs: 1 straight down, 1 slanting out each side, with flat feet.
Step 8: Ground line
Draw a straight ground line under the feet from well left to well right, touching the bottom of all 3.
Step 9: Tan band, grey metal
Colour the band tan. Colour the stem, button, knob and tripod grey.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, sky glass
Colour the cheeks pink, then the glass, window and dish sky blue around them. Leave the eyes and bulb white.
Step 11: Blue ring, brown box
Colour the lens ring blue and the box brown, around everything else. Your vintage camera is ready for a snap!
