How to Draw a Fairy on a Flower

Draw a fairy on a flower in 19 steps, about 14 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Step 1: Egg head
Near the top, in the middle, draw a big egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave the lower half of the page for the flower.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle draw 2 big eyes with black dots and a lash each. Add a U nose, smile, brows.
Step 3: Pointy ears
On each side of the head draw a pointy ear: start on the head, point up and out, come back.
Step 4: Hair and fringe
Start on the head's left side. Draw hair over the top, then 3 soft bumps back for the fringe.
Step 5: Bobbed hair
Behind the head and ears draw hair down each side, curling in to a point beside the chin.
Step 6: Neck and dress top
Start under the chin and draw 2 neck lines down, stopping at the shoulders. Add a dress top with puffy sleeves.
Step 7: Skirt over knees
From the top's bottom corners draw a skirt flaring out. Give the hem 2 round bumps for her knees.
Step 8: Arms and hands
Start at each sleeve. Draw the arm down, round a mitten with a thumb, and back up to the sleeve.
Tip Rub out the skirt line inside each arm.
Step 9: Dangling legs
Under each knee bump draw a leg hanging down, getting narrower. Stop at the ankle.
Step 10: Pointed slippers
On each ankle draw a slipper with a round heel and a pointed toe, pointing down.
Step 11: Wings
Behind each shoulder draw a wing with a big rounded top and a smaller rounded bottom, like a butterfly.
Step 12: Flower middle
Behind her legs and hands draw a wide flat oval, as if she sits on it.
Step 13: Petals
Round the oval draw 7 fat petals: one at the bottom, then 3 up each side.
Step 14: Stem, leaves, ground
From the bottom petal draw a stem down to a ground line. Add a leaf on each side.
Step 15: Yellow middle
Go over your lines. Colour the flower's middle yellow, around her skirt, legs and hands.
Step 16: Pink dress and petals
Colour the dress top, the skirt, the slippers and all 7 petals pink.
Step 17: Sky-blue wings
Colour both wings sky blue, around her arms and hair.
Step 18: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour pink cheeks, then the face around them, the ears, neck, arms and legs peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 19: Brown hair, green stem
Colour the hair brown and the stem and leaves green. Your fairy on a flower is done!
