How to Draw Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Draw monkeys jumping on the bed in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: bed frame.
Step 1: Bed frame
Draw a ground line. On it stand a tall post with a round knob, and a short one far right.
Tip Leave lots of room above the bed for the monkeys.
Step 2: Mattress and pillow
From the left post draw a long mattress across to the right post. Rest a pillow on its left end.
Tip Under the mattress draw a rail line from post to post. Rub out the mattress line inside the pillow.
Step 3: Sagging blanket
On the right draw a blanket: a top edge that sags in the middle, 2 sides and a wavy bottom.
Tip Rub out the mattress and rail lines inside the blanket.
Step 4: First monkey's head
High on the left draw a wide round head with a big round ear each side and 3 hair bumps.
Tip Draw a small oval inside each ear.
Step 5: First monkey's face
Draw a heart face with 2 bumps on top. Add 2 oval eyes, 2 nostril dots and a wide smile.
Tip Put a black dot in each eye and leave a small white shine.
Step 6: Body and arms up
Under the head draw an egg body with an oval tummy. Draw 2 arms reaching up to mitten hands.
Tip Each arm bends at the elbow and gets thinner towards the hand.
Step 7: Jumping legs and tail
Draw 2 bent legs with the knees out, each ending in a bun foot. Add a long tail curling under.
Tip This monkey is in the air: keep its feet well above the pillow.
Step 8: Second monkey's head
Lower down on the right draw the same wide head, 2 big round ears and 3 hair bumps.
Tip Draw a small oval inside each ear.
Step 9: Second monkey's face
Draw the heart face again, with 2 oval eyes, 2 nostril dots and a wide smile.
Step 10: Body and arms out
Draw the egg body and tummy. Draw 2 arms stretched out to the sides, each ending in a mitten hand.
Step 11: Landing legs and tail
Draw 2 short bent legs with bun feet standing on the blanket. Add a long curly tail on the right.
Tip The blanket sags where the feet land.
Step 12: Tan and cream
Colour both faces, the inner ears, tummies, hands and feet tan. Colour the mattress cream.
Step 13: Brown fur, wooden bed
Colour the fur of both monkeys brown, around the tan parts. Colour the 2 posts and the rail light brown.
Step 14: Blue blanket
Colour the blanket blue. Leave the pillow and the monkeys' eyes white.
