How to Draw a Unicorn Head

Step 1: Big round head

In the middle of the paper, draw a big round head with soft cheeks. Leave room above for the horn.

Tip Not a perfect circle. Leave room on the right for the mane.

Step 2: Two big eyes

Across the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes close together. Add black dots with white shines.

Step 3: Nose and smile

Under the eyes, draw a tall oval nose that rounds off the chin. Add 2 comma nostrils and a smile.

Tip Rub out the chin line inside it. A horse nose is long, not a round pig snout.

Step 4: Two ears

On each top corner of the head, draw a leaf ear standing up. Draw a smaller leaf inside each.

Tip Horse ears stand upright like 2 leaves, not sideways.

Step 5: The fringe

Between the ears, draw a cap of hair with a dip in the middle. Hang one tuft between the eyes.

Tip This fringe hangs over the forehead, ear to ear.

Step 6: The horn

From the dip in the hair, draw a tall pointy horn. Add 3 short curves across it for the spiral.

Tip Make it tall, nearly to the top of the paper.

Step 7: Flowing mane

Start behind the right ear. Draw 4 round locks down past the jaw, then come back up to the cheek.

Tip Add a short curve at each notch between the locks.

Step 8: Pretty lashes

Give each eye 2 little lashes flicking up and out from the top of the eye.

Step 9: Sparkles

On the left of the head, draw 3 sparkles floating in the air, one big and 2 small.

Step 10: Cream head

Go over your lines. Colour the head and ears cream, pressing lightly. Leave the eyes white.

Step 11: Yellow horn, pink mane

Colour the horn and sparkles yellow. Colour the mane and fringe pink.

Step 12: Nose, cheeks and ears

Colour the nose pink and add a pink oval on each cheek. Colour inside each ear purple.
