How to Draw a UFO

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a UFO in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: low glass dome.

Print

  1. Step 1: Low glass dome

Above the middle draw a wide low bubble with a flat bottom. Add a thin sagging collar under it.

  2. Step 2: 2 big round eyes

Draw 2 big round eyes in the dome, a finger apart, with a black dot and a white shine.

  3. Step 3: Big wide grin

Start under the left eye. Draw a big wide U grin and stop under the right eye. Join the ends.

Tip Add a small rainbow tongue on the bottom of the U.

  4. Step 4: Wide saucer rim

From the collar's left end draw a hill out to a pointy tip, then a long smile to the right.

Tip Draw a hill back up to the collar's right end. The tips stick out.

  5. Step 5: Bowl underneath

Start at the left tip. Draw one big smile under the rim, sagging deeper, and stop at the right tip.

  6. Step 6: 3 round lights

Inside the bowl draw 3 round lights in a row, the middle one biggest.

  7. Step 7: 2 landing legs

On each side, start 2 lines under the bowl and slant them down to just above the ground.

Tip Add a hill foot pad under each leg. They lean out like a tripod.

  8. Step 8: Front leg

Start 2 lines under the very bottom of the bowl. Bring them straight down, lower than the other legs.

Tip Add a bigger hill pad: nearer things look bigger.

  9. Step 9: Bumpy moon ground

Start at the left edge. Draw a bumpy ground line behind the 3 pads, and stop at the right edge.

  10. Step 10: Antenna and stars

From the dome's top draw a short stalk up to a small ball. Add 3 small stars in the sky.

  11. Step 11: Yellow lights, pink cheeks

Colour the 3 lights, the antenna ball and the 3 stars yellow. Add pink cheeks and colour the tongue pink.

  12. Step 12: Blue dome, red bowl

Colour the dome sky blue around the cheeks, the bowl red around the lights. Leave the eyes and mouth white.

  13. Step 13: Grey saucer, slate pads

Colour the rim, collar and 3 legs grey. Colour the 3 foot pads darker slate grey.
