How to Draw a Sleigh
Draw a sleigh in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: snowy ground.
Step 1: Snowy ground
Draw a ground line across the paper below the middle, with a low round snow mound at each edge.
Tip Snow mounds are soft low hills that start and stop on the line.
Step 2: The sleigh body
Start low left. Go up a front curl, along the seat, up a high seat back, down. Stop low right.
Tip Close the bottom flat; add a rail a finger inside the seat line.
Step 3: Porthole eyes
In the middle of the side, draw 2 porthole eyes, one eye apart. Add a dot and shine in each.
Step 4: The smile
Start on the bottom of the left eye. Draw a U smile across to the bottom of the right eye.
Step 5: Sack of presents
Start on the seat line. Draw a big bulging sack up, over a round top, and down to the seat.
Tip As tall as the front curl, like a balloon sitting on the seat.
Step 6: Tied neck and bow
On the sack, draw a short neck from the sack up to a flat top. Add a small butterfly bow.
Step 7: Presents peeking out
On each side of the neck, draw a present box peeking up out of the sack, the left one bigger.
Step 8: Side swirl
On the sleigh's side, draw a big swirl: a long S curve curling round at the end like a snail.
Step 9: Curly runner
Under the body, draw a thick runner curling up at the front like an elf shoe, with 2 short posts.
Tip The runner rests on the ground line, joined to the body by 2 posts.
Step 10: Gold runner and bow
Colour the runner, posts and bow yellow-gold.
Step 11: Red sleigh, pink cheeks
Add pink cheeks. Colour the sleigh body red around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Green presents, brown sack
Colour the presents green and the sack brown, around the bow. Leave the snow white. Go over your lines.
