How to Draw a Running Turkey
Draw a running turkey in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: small round head.
Step 1: Small round head
Near the top right, draw a small round head, like a ball.
Tip Leave lots of room on the left for the body and the tail.
Step 2: Beak, snood, wattle
On the right, draw a short pointy beak. Drape a snood over it. Hang a wattle under the chin.
Tip The snood is the droopy bit on top of a turkey's beak.
Step 3: One big eye
Inside the head, draw a big round eye. Add a black dot with a tiny white shine.
Step 4: Neck and body
Start behind the head. Draw a stretched neck, a big egg body tipped forward, and stop under the chin.
Tip The chest leans low and the neck reaches forward. That is how a turkey runs.
Step 5: Fan tail
Behind the body, draw 5 long round feathers in a fan, like an open hand.
Tip All 5 start from the same spot behind the body.
Step 6: One wing
On the side of the body, draw a teardrop wing pointing back. Add 2 short feather lines.
Step 7: Front leg
Under the tummy, draw a fat thigh pointing forward. Bend a thin leg down from it, with 3 toes.
Tip This foot is up in the air, ready to land.
Step 8: Back leg
Draw a second thigh pointing down. Bend a thin leg back from it, with 3 toes pushing off the ground.
Tip One leg forward and one leg back makes a run.
Step 9: Ground and speed lines
Draw a ground line under the back toes. Add 3 short speed lines behind the turkey.
Step 10: Yellow parts
Colour the beak, both thin legs and the second and fourth tail feathers yellow.
Step 11: Orange feathers
Colour the other 3 tail feathers orange.
Step 12: Pink head, red wattle
Colour the head pink around the eye. Leave the eye white. Colour the snood and wattle red.
Step 13: Brown turkey
Colour the wing light brown. Colour the body and both thighs dark brown around it. Go over your lines.
Tip Your running turkey is done!
