How to Draw a Tulip Field
Draw a tulip field in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle cup.
Step 1: The middle cup
Start in the middle of your paper. Draw a big U cup and stop level with where you started.
Tip Make it as big as a plum and leave the top open.
Step 2: Eyes and a smile
Draw 2 big egg eyes in the cup, a black dot in each. Add a wide U smile under them.
Step 3: 3 petal tips
Start top-left on the cup. Zigzag 3 soft points and stop top-right. Add a fold line under each dip.
Step 4: The tall stem
Start under the cup. Draw 2 gently curving lines down, a finger apart, and stop low near the bottom.
Step 5: 2 blade leaves
Draw a long pointy leaf from low on each side of the stem. Add a vein in each.
Step 6: Left tulip
On the left start a smaller tulip: U cup, 3 petal tips, then 2 curved stem lines stopping low.
Tip Make this cup as big as a walnut.
Step 7: Right tulip
On the right start another small tulip: U cup, 3 petal tips, then 2 curved stem lines stopping low.
Step 8: Small tulip leaves
Give each small tulip 2 blade leaves that sweep up from low on the stem to a point.
Step 9: The hill
Draw one long low hill line from edge to edge, along the stem ends. Add 2 grass tufts between them.
Step 10: The sun
In the top-right corner draw a small round sun with 8 short rays around it.
Step 11: Yellow and pink
Colour the left tulip and the sun yellow, the right tulip pink, and 2 pink cheeks on the big tulip.
Step 12: Green stems and leaves
Colour every stem and leaf green.
Step 13: The red tulip
Colour the big tulip red around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Your tulip field is done!
