How to Draw Toast

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw toast in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the toast.

Print

  1. Step 1: The toast

In the middle draw a slice of bread: straight sides and a soft round top that puffs out.

  2. Step 2: The crust

Start on the bottom, a finger from the left. Draw a line round inside the edge, back to the bottom.

Tip Keep the same gap from the edge all the way round.

  3. Step 3: Butter

In the middle of the toast draw a flat slanted square, like a little tile seen from above.

  4. Step 4: Butter edge

Under the tile draw a short line down, across, and up to its bottom corner, to make the butter thick.

  5. Step 5: Melting drips

Hanging from the bottom edge of the butter draw 2 short teardrop drips, round end down.

  6. Step 6: Toasty spots

Draw 3 small ovals on the toast, away from the butter, for toasty spots.

  7. Step 7: A plate

Start low on the left of the toast. Draw a big flat oval plate behind it, passing under the bottom.

  8. Step 8: Steam and crumbs

Draw 3 wiggly steam lines above the toast. Draw a crumb on the plate each side of the toast.

  9. Step 9: Yellow butter, cream middle

Go over your lines. Colour the butter yellow and the middle cream, around the butter and spots.

  10. Step 10: Tan crust, blue plate

Colour the crust, spots and crumbs tan, and the plate blue around the toast.
