How to Draw a Thinking Emoji

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a thinking emoji in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round face.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round face

In the middle, draw one big round face, nearly as big as the page.

  2. Step 2: Two eyes

A little above the middle, draw 2 tall oval eyes, a good gap apart.

  3. Step 3: Looking up

Colour a black dot high in each eye, near the top right, so it looks up. Leave a tiny shine.

  4. Step 4: Thinking eyebrows

Above the left eye, draw a low flat eyebrow. Above the right eye, draw a high curved one.

  5. Step 5: Small mouth

Below the eyes, draw a short curved mouth tilting up to the right, like a little hmm.

  6. Step 6: Fist under the chin

At the bottom left of the face draw a soft round fist, wider than tall. It hangs over the edge.

Tip Rub out the face line inside the fist.

  7. Step 7: Thumb and finger

From the fist draw a thumb straight up, and a finger pointing across under the mouth.

Tip The finger on the chin says 'thinking'.

  8. Step 8: Curled fingers

Start on the right edge of the fist. Draw 2 short lines across and stop near the middle.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheek, yellow hand

Rub a pink oval on the right cheek. Colour the fist, thumb and finger yellow.

  10. Step 10: Yellow face

Colour the face bright yellow, around the hand and the pink cheek. Leave the eyes white.
