How to Draw an Ampersand
Draw an ampersand in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top ring.
Step 1: The top ring
Near the top middle of your paper draw a fat ring, like a doughnut standing up.
Tip The ampersand means 'and': say it as you draw the swoops.
Step 2: The hole
High up inside the ring draw a small ring for the hole.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Under the hole draw 2 big round eyes with a gap between. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: A smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, starting under the left eye and stopping under the right eye.
Step 5: The big bowl
From the bottom of the ring draw a fat swoop down and round like a big bowl, ending partway up.
Step 6: The tail
From the bottom left of the ring draw a fat slanted tail down to the bottom right, crossing the bowl.
Tip Rub out the lines where the shapes cross, so it is one shape.
Step 7: Sparkles on the left
On the left of the ampersand draw two sparkle stars, one higher and one lower.
Step 8: Sparkles on the right
Draw two more sparkle stars on the right to match.
Step 9: The floor line
Draw a floor line from left to right, touching the bottom of the bowl and the tail.
Step 10: Green ampersand
Go over your lines, then colour the whole ampersand green, going round the face and leaving the eyes white.
Step 11: Yellow sparkles
Colour the sparkles yellow. Your bubble ampersand is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an ampersand, drawn by you.
