How to Draw a Teacher

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a teacher in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.

  2. Step 2: Face and glasses

Draw round glasses with a bridge, a big dot eye in each lens, 2 eyebrows, a nose and a smile.

  3. Step 3: Hair and fringe

Draw the hair over the top of the head, just above the head line, with a fringe curve.

  4. Step 4: Bob

From the hair by each temple, draw the bob straight down beside the cheek and round it at the jaw.

  5. Step 5: Cardigan and buttons

Draw 2 neck lines. From one, draw a cardigan back to the other. Add a middle line and 3 buttons.

Tip Make the shoulders round, not pointy.

  6. Step 6: Skirt

From the cardigan's bottom left corner draw a skirt sloping out to a wide hem, back to the right corner.

  7. Step 7: Long sleeves

Draw each sleeve with 2 lines from the shoulder and the armpit down to the wrist. Add a cuff line.

  8. Step 8: Mitten hands

Under each sleeve draw a round mitten hand, like the bottom of an egg, with a little thumb pointing in.

  9. Step 9: A book

Under the left hand draw a tall book, its top behind the hand. Add a spine and a page edge.

  10. Step 10: Legs, shoes and ground

From the hem draw 2 lines down for each leg, stopping above the bottom. Add shoes and a ground line.

  11. Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink, then the face, neck, hands and legs peach around them.

    Tip Leave the lenses white.

  12. Step 12: Brown hair, red book

Colour the hair and shoes brown and the book red, leaving the pages white.

  13. Step 13: Green cardigan, navy skirt

Colour the cardigan and sleeves green and the skirt navy, and your teacher is done.
