How to Draw a Sawhorse
Draw a sawhorse in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top beam.
Step 1: The top beam
Above the middle draw a long flat box lying sideways, nearly edge to edge, a finger and a half tall.
Tip Leave the bottom half of the page for the legs.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the beam draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, with a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Ground line
Start near the left edge. Draw a long ground line well under the beam, stopping near the right edge.
Step 5: Two legs
Under each end, start on the bottom of the beam. Draw a leg leaning out down to the ground.
Step 6: Two more legs
Start on the beam again. Draw a second leg under each end, leaning the other way down to the ground.
Step 7: Cross braces
Between each pair of legs draw a short flat bar across, halfway down, joining the 2 legs.
Step 8: Tan braces
Go over your lines, then colour the 2 braces tan.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Wood beam and legs
Colour the beam around the cheeks and the 4 legs wood brown. Leave the eyes white. Your sawhorse is ready!
