How to Draw a Papasan Chair
Draw a papasan chair in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cushion.
Step 1: The cushion
In the middle draw a big wide oval, tipped up on the right, about as wide as your hand.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the cushion draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Thick edge
Start at the cushion's right end. Draw a curve just under its bottom edge, stopping at the left end.
Step 5: The rim
Start just left of the cushion. Draw a big tipped rainbow over its top, stopping just right of it.
Step 6: The stand
Low under the cushion draw a wide flat drum: a curved top, short sides and a curved bottom.
Step 7: The bowl
Start at the rim's left end. Curve down to the drum and up to the rim's right end.
Step 8: Back of the stand
Beside the bowl on each side, draw a short curve from the drum's corner up to the bowl.
Step 9: Wicker weave
Under the thick edge draw 3 short lines across the bowl, out to its edge or the drum.
Step 10: Floor line
Start well left of the drum. Draw a straight floor line along its bottom, stopping well to the right.
Step 11: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Purple cushion
Colour the cushion and its thick edge purple, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Brown bowl and stand
Colour the rim, bowl and stand wood brown, around the cushion. Your papasan chair is done!
