How to Draw a Syrup
Draw a syrup in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bottle.
Step 1: The bottle
In the middle draw a tall bottle with round shoulders and a narrow neck on top.
Tip Both shoulders slope the same way, like a bell.
Step 2: Flat cap
On the neck draw a cap a bit wider than the neck, with a gently rounded top.
Step 3: Cap line
Draw a line across the cap near its bottom.
Step 4: Little handle
On the right of the neck draw a round loop down to the shoulder. Draw a small oval hole inside.
Tip Syrup jugs have a tiny loop for one finger.
Step 5: A label
On the front of the bottle draw a wide label with soft corners, nearly touching both sides.
Step 6: Maple leaf
On the label draw a maple leaf: 1 point up, 2 out sideways, 2 below, and a short stem.
Tip Maple syrup comes from maple trees.
Step 7: A shine
Draw a short curved line on the left shoulder, above the label, for a shine.
Step 8: Table and shadow
Draw a flat oval around the bottle's bottom for a shadow. Draw a table line out from each side.
Step 9: Grey shadow
Go over your lines, then colour the shadow grey.
Step 10: Red cap and leaf
Colour the cap and the maple leaf red.
Step 11: Brown syrup
Colour the bottle and its little handle brown, leaving the label white. Your syrup is done!
