How to Draw a Swim Instructor
Draw a swim instructor in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, left of the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Add a C ear each side, from the head back to it.
Step 3: Cap and goggles
Draw a swim cap over the head, with a curve across the forehead. Add goggles: a strap and 2 ovals.
Step 4: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 neck lines under the chin. From the left one draw a swim shirt, ending at the right one.
Step 5: Arms
Start at each sleeve. Draw the left arm hanging down to the wrist, and the right arm reaching out.
Tip The left arm goes under the water, so it has no hand.
Step 6: A fist
On the right wrist draw a fist like a fat egg, with a thumb bump and a curved finger line.
Step 7: Kickboard and swimmer
Start behind the fist. Draw a thin kickboard. Above its end draw a small head, neck down to the board.
Tip The fist grips the board's end. The swimmer's body is under the water.
Step 8: Swimmer's face and arms
Give the little head 2 eyes and a smile. Draw 2 fat arms down to the board, with oval armbands.
Step 9: Pool water
Start at the left edge. Draw a long wavy water line just below the shirt, stopping at the right edge.
Tip Everything below the wavy line is under water, so no legs!
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink, then the face, ears, neck, arms and fist peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Little swimmer's skin
Colour the little swimmer's face, neck, arms and hands peach. Leave the eyes white too.
Step 12: Sky caps, orange bands
Colour both swim caps, the goggles and the little swimsuit sky blue. Colour the armbands orange.
Step 13: Red shirt, blue water
Colour the shirt and board red, then the water blue around the fist and board. Go over your lines. Done!
