How to Draw a Superhero Dog

Draw a superhero dog in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top left of your paper draw a big round head, a bit wider than tall.
Step 2: Mask and eyes
Across the middle of the head draw a wide mask with 2 bumps on top. Inside draw 2 big eyes.
Step 3: Nose and smile
Under the mask draw a sideways oval poking below the chin, with a black nose on top and a smile.
Step 4: Floppy ears
Start at each top corner. Swing a long teardrop ear down beside the cheek, and back up to the head.
Step 5: The body
Start at the neck. Draw a big soft bean body: back, round bottom, tummy, and up to the chest.
Step 6: A streaming cape
Start on the back behind the shoulders. Go up right, then back with 2 pointy flaps to the back.
Tip The cape flies out behind because the dog is zooming along.
Step 7: Front flying leg
From the chest, draw a front leg reaching forward, then an oval paw with 2 toe lines.
Tip Wide at the top, narrow at the paw. No ground: the dog is flying.
Step 8: Back flying leg
From under the bottom, draw a back leg stretching back, then an oval paw with 2 toe lines.
Step 9: Pointy tail
From the top of the dog's bottom, draw a tail sweeping back and up to a pointy tip, under the cape.
Tip Fat where it leaves the body, thin at the tip.
Step 10: A puffy cloud
Below the dog, draw a small cloud with round bumps on top and a flat bottom.
Tip Keep it clear of the paws, so the dog is flying.
Step 11: Cream nose, tan dog
Go over your lines. Colour the nose oval cream, then the head, body, legs and tail tan, around the mask.
Step 12: Brown ears, blue mask
Colour the floppy ears brown and the mask blue. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Red cape
Colour the cape red. Leave the cloud white, and your superhero dog is away!
