How to Draw a Sun in Sunglasses
Draw a sun in sunglasses in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the round sun.
Step 1: The round sun
In the middle of your paper draw a big round circle, as big as an orange.
Tip Leave room all the way round for the rays.
Step 2: Two lenses
Just above the middle of the circle draw 2 lenses side by side. Each is a box with round corners.
Tip Leave a small gap between the lenses.
Step 3: Big grin
Under the glasses draw a wide smile line. From its ends hang a deep U to make an open grin.
Step 4: Teeth and cheeks
Start at one side of the grin and curve across to the other side for teeth. Add 2 oval cheeks.
Step 5: Bridge and arms
Join the lenses with a small curve. From each outer side draw a short line out to the circle.
Step 6: Shiny glass
On each lens draw 2 slanted shine marks, one long and one short.
Tip Slant all 4 marks the same way.
Step 7: Four tall rays
Start on the circle. Draw a tall pointy ray out and back to the circle: top, bottom, left, right.
Tip Each tall ray is about a third as long as the sun is wide.
Step 8: Four more rays
In the middle of each gap draw one more tall ray, starting on the circle and coming back to it.
Step 9: Short rays
Between the tall rays draw 8 short pointy rays. Each starts on the circle and comes back to it.
Step 10: Yellow sun, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the sun yellow, around the glasses and the grin. Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Orange rays, red grin
Colour all the rays orange. Colour inside the grin red. Leave the teeth white.
Step 12: Dark glasses
Colour both lenses dark grey, around the shine marks. Leave the shine marks white.
