How to Draw Stick People
Draw stick people in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: three heads.
Step 1: Three heads
Across the top draw 3 round heads in a row: big on the left, middle-sized, then small on the right.
Tip Like a family: the bigger the head, the taller the person.
Step 2: Two faces
On the big and middle heads draw 2 oval eyes, a tiny U nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.
Step 3: The small face
Give the small head the same face: 2 oval eyes, a tiny nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.
Step 4: Hair caps
On each head, start by the eyebrows and draw soft hair tufts over the top, down to the other side.
Step 5: Body lines
From each chin draw one straight line down for the body. Stop about 2 heads below.
Step 6: Holding hands
From each body line draw bent stick arms sloping down to meet the neighbour's. Draw a hand where they meet.
Step 7: Outside arms
From the big person draw a stick arm down to the left. From the small person, down to the right.
Tip Add a hand on the end of each arm.
Step 8: Stick legs
From the bottom of each body line draw 2 legs leaning apart. Stop them all at the same height.
Step 9: Shoes and ground
Draw a flat rounded shoe at the bottom of every leg, toes pointing out. Add one long ground line underneath.
Step 10: Peach faces
Colour all 3 faces peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Peach hands
Colour all 4 hands peach: the 2 joined hands and the 2 at the ends.
Step 12: Hair colours
Colour the middle person's hair yellow, then the big one's brown and the small one's black.
Step 13: Red and blue shoes
Colour the big and small people's shoes red, the middle one's blue, then go over your lines.
