How to Draw a Starfish
Draw a starfish in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: arms: a big m.
Step 1: Arms: a big M
In the middle, start low on the left. Draw a big M with round tips. Stop low on the right.
Step 2: Legs: a big W
Start where the M stopped. Draw a big W with 2 round feet, up to meet where the M started.
Step 3: Big eyes
In the middle of the star, draw 2 big round eyes almost touching, with black dots and white shines.
Step 4: Open smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a flat line. From its ends, draw a U down. Add a tongue and 2 cheeks.
Step 5: Spots on every arm
Down the middle of every arm and leg, dab 2 little yellow spots in a row, before the tip.
Step 6: Sand and seaweed
Draw a sand line under the feet. Start on the sand, draw 2 seaweed leaves up, back to the sand.
Step 7: Shell and bubbles
At the right, on the sand, draw a bumpy fan shell with a base and 3 lines. Add 3 bubbles.
Step 8: Pink shell, tan sand
Colour the shell, tongue and 2 cheeks pink. Colour the sand tan, down to the bottom of the paper.
Step 9: Orange starfish
Colour the starfish orange, around the yellow spots, pink cheeks and mouth. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Red mouth, green seaweed
Colour the inside of the mouth red, around the tongue. Colour the 2 seaweed leaves green.
