How to Draw a Kunekune Pig
Draw a kunekune pig in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left of your paper draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.
Tip A big head is what makes it cute.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes in the middle of the head. Under them, an oval snout and a smile.
Step 3: The ears
On each top corner of the head draw a soft triangle ear leaning out, with a smaller triangle inside it.
Step 4: The tassels
Under each side of the jaw draw a little tassel hanging down, short and round like a thumb.
Tip Every kunekune has these 2 tassels. Keep them away from the smile.
Step 5: The neck
Start behind the head. Draw the neck's back sloping down to the right. Draw its front from the chin down.
Tip The neck gets wider toward the body.
Step 6: Body and ground
From the neck draw a bean body with bumpy hair on the back. Add a long ground line under it.
Step 7: Two legs
Draw a front leg from the chest to the ground, and a back leg under the bottom, bent a little.
Tip Each leg gets narrower at the bottom and ends in a small round hoof with a short split.
Step 8: The far legs
Draw a thin leg behind the front leg, from tummy down to hoof. Same in front of the back leg.
Step 9: The tail
Start on the top corner of the bottom. Draw a short line out, then a swirl curling into the middle.
Step 10: Patches
Draw 3 oval patches: a small one on the shoulder, one below it, and a big one on the bottom.
Tip Keep every patch on the body, away from the face and the edges.
Step 11: Colour it ginger
Colour the snout and ear insides peach. Colour the pig ginger around them, the patches and hooves.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Hooves and patches
Colour the 4 hooves and the 3 patches brown.
