How to Draw a Squiggle

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a squiggle in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the squiggle.

Print

  1. Step 1: The squiggle

Start high on the left. Draw a fat wavy ribbon across: dip, hump, dip, then up on the right.

Tip Draw both edges so it is a thick band all the way.

  2. Step 2: Two eyes

On the middle hump draw 2 egg eyes, a little apart. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.

  3. Step 3: A smile

Under the eyes, not touching them, draw a small U smile with the ends turning up.

  4. Step 4: Rosy cheeks

A little way out from each end of the smile draw a small sideways oval for a cheek.

  5. Step 5: Sparkles above the dips

Above each dip of the squiggle draw a sparkle star.

  6. Step 6: Sparkles under the ends

Under each round end of the squiggle draw a smaller sparkle star.

  7. Step 7: Floor and shadow

Draw a floor line touching the 2 dips, and a flat oval shadow on the line.

  8. Step 8: Yellow sparkles

Go over your lines, then colour the 4 sparkles yellow.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, grey shadow

Colour the 2 cheeks rosy pink and the shadow grey.

  10. Step 10: Green squiggle

Colour the ribbon green, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your happy squiggle is done!
