How to Draw a Hole in Paper
Draw a hole in paper in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the paper.
Step 1: The paper
Draw a big tall box that fills most of your page. This is the sheet of paper.
Step 2: The hole
In the middle of the sheet draw a wide flat oval, like an egg lying on its side.
Step 3: The wall
Start at the oval's left tip. Draw a rainbow line under the top edge. Stop at the right tip.
Tip Keep the rainbow the same curve as the top of the oval, just a little lower.
Step 4: Deeper down
Start on the oval's left edge, lower down. Draw one more rainbow line across to the right edge.
Step 5: Margin line
Near the left side of the sheet draw a straight line from the top edge down to the bottom edge.
Step 6: Top lines
Above the hole draw 2 lines across. Start on the margin line and stop just before the right edge.
Step 7: Broken lines
Draw 3 more lines from the margin. Each one stops at the hole and starts again on the other side.
Step 8: Bottom lines
Below the hole draw 2 more lines across, from the margin line, the same length as the top ones.
Step 9: Yellow paper
Go over your lines. Colour the sheet of paper yellow, all around the hole.
Step 10: Light grey wall
Inside the hole, colour the top band light grey.
Step 11: Dark grey band
Colour the middle band dark grey. Press a little harder.
Step 12: Black bottom
Colour the bottom of the hole black, so it looks deep. Your hole in the paper is done!

Your finished drawing
