How to Draw Uncle Sam
Draw Uncle Sam in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big head, wider than tall, with fat round cheeks.
Tip Leave room above for a very tall hat.
Step 2: Tall top hat
Draw a flat brim across the head. On it draw a tall hat with a flat top and a band.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
Under the brim draw 2 big round eyes close together. Colour a black dot in each, with a white shine.
Step 4: Nose and smile
Under the eyes, in the middle, draw a small ball nose. Under it draw a little smile.
Step 5: Hair and goatee
Under each end of the brim draw a fluffy tuft of hair. Under the smile draw a pointy goatee.
Step 6: Bow tie
Draw a bow tie behind the goatee: a fat triangle poking out on each side.
Step 7: Round coat
Start under the left cheek and draw a big round coat body. Stop under the right cheek.
Step 8: Arms and hands
From under each cheek draw a sausage arm down the side, bending in to a round hand with a thumb.
Tip Round ends, no points: arms like sausages.
Step 9: Legs and boots
Under the coat draw 2 short legs, each with a boot pointing out. Draw a ground line under them.
Step 10: Stars and stripes
Draw 3 stars on the hat band. Draw 4 lines from the band up to the top of the hat.
Step 11: Peach face
Go over your lines. Colour the face, nose and hands peach. Leave the eyes, hair and goatee white.
Step 12: Red stripes and tie
Colour every other stripe on the hat red, starting at the side. Colour the bow tie red too.
Step 13: Blue coat
Colour the hat band, coat, arms and legs blue, around the hands and bow tie. Leave the stars white.
Step 14: Brown boots
Colour both boots brown, and your Uncle Sam is done!
