How to Draw a Square Prism
Draw a square prism in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: front square.
Step 1: Front square
Low on the left of your paper, draw a square with 4 equal sides.
Tip A square prism is a long box with a square at each end.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the square draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Leave a gap under the eyes, then draw a wide U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The long top
From each top corner draw a long slanted line up and right. Join the 2 ends with a flat line.
Tip Make both slanted lines the same length, and longer than a side of the square.
Step 5: The long side
From the back right corner draw a line straight down. Then slant a long line back to the bottom corner.
Tip The line going down is as long as a side of the square.
Step 6: Sparkles on the left
On the left of the prism draw 2 sparkle stars, one higher and one lower.
Step 7: Sparkles on the right
Draw 2 more sparkle stars on the right to match.
Step 8: Floor and shadow
Draw a floor line under the prism from the left edge to the right edge. Add a flat oval shadow.
Step 9: Yellow sparkles and top
Go over your lines. Colour the 4 sparkles and the long top of the prism yellow.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, orange front
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the front square orange, around the face. Leave the eyes white.
Tip Colour slowly round the eyes and the smile so the face stays clear.
Step 11: Grey shadow, brown side
Colour the shadow grey and the long side brown. Your square prism is done!
Tip A light top and a dark side make the prism look solid.
