How to Draw a Spitfire
Draw a spitfire in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Start at the nose. Draw a flat top back to a small tail, then a round tummy to the nose.
Tip Make the nose end fat and the tail end thin.
Step 2: Eyes and smile
Near the nose draw 2 big eyes with black dots. Start under one eye, draw a smile to the other.
Step 3: Pointed nose cone
On the nose draw a cone as tall as the nose, with a rounded point at the front.
Tip This plane has a pointy nose, not a flat one.
Step 4: Propeller blades
From the cone draw 2 long thin blades, one up and one down, each with a round end.
Tip Make the 2 blades the same length.
Step 5: Bubble cockpit
On the top line behind the eyes draw a bubble cockpit. Add a small curved shine inside.
Step 6: The big wing
Start on the tummy behind the smile. Draw a long egg-shaped wing down to a round tip, then back up.
Tip Its wings are curved all the way round, like half an egg.
Step 7: The far wing
Behind the cockpit draw a smaller wing poking up and back to a round tip.
Step 8: Tail fin
Start on the top line near the tail. Curve up to a round top, then down to the tail.
Tip The fin is taller than the far wing.
Step 9: Tail wing
From the end of the tail draw a small wing poking back to a round tip.
Step 10: Two round badges
Draw a circle with a smaller circle inside on the side of the body, and another on the big wing.
Tip Each badge looks like a little target.
Step 11: Blue and grey
Go over your lines. Colour the cockpit light blue, and the nose cone and the 2 blades grey.
Step 12: Green plane
Colour the body, both wings, the fin and the tail wing green. Leave the eyes and the badges white.
Step 13: Blue rings, red dots
Colour the ring of each badge blue and its middle dot red. Your Spitfire is ready to fly!
