How to Draw an Ambulance

Draw an ambulance in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big headlight eye.

Step 1: Big headlight eye
Near the left edge, above the middle, draw one big circle eye, 3 fingers wide. Add a pupil and shines.
Step 2: Nose, hood and cab
Start below the eye. Go up the nose, back over the eye, up the windscreen, along a long roof. Stop.
Tip Short hood, long cab roof.
Step 3: Tall box
From the back of the cab roof, step up, run a long flat roof, and drop down, ending low.
Step 4: Floor and wheel bumps
Start at the bottom of the back wall. Draw the floor forward with 2 rainbow bumps, ending at the nose.
Step 5: Cross sign
In the middle of the box side, draw a fat plus sign with all 4 arms the same length.
Step 6: Siren light
On the roof, draw a brick and dome. Split it from the top down to the brick. Add 3 rays.
Step 7: Tyres and road
Under each bump, draw a fat tyre with a hubcap and a dot inside. Draw a road line touching both.
Step 8: Smile and bumper
Start below the eye's front edge. Draw a U smile, stopping before the wheel bump. Add a flat bumper.
Step 9: Windows
Behind the hood, draw a leaning windscreen under the cab roof. Add a small rounded side window behind it.
Step 10: Door and stripe
Start at the front corner of the side window. Draw a door line down to the floor. Add a stripe.
Step 11: Yellow eye, sky windows
Colour the headlight eye yellow around the pupil and shines. Colour the windows sky blue.
Step 12: Grey metal, blue light
Colour the hubcaps around their dots, the siren brick and the bumper grey. Colour the dome's front half blue.
Step 13: Red cross, black tyres
Colour the cross, the stripe and the dome's back half red. Colour the tyres black around the hubcaps.
