How to Draw a Speedboat
Draw a speedboat in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the waves.
Step 1: The waves
Below the middle of your paper, draw gentle wave bumps right across the page. Add a few ripple dashes below.
Tip Little hills, not spikes, about 12 of them all the same size.
Step 2: The hull
From the waves, curve up to a pointy nose, back along the top, down to the waves. Add a rail.
Tip Never draw the bottom of the boat: it is under the water.
Step 3: Porthole eyes
On the hull, draw 2 big round porthole eyes, one eye apart. Add a black dot and shine in each.
Step 4: The smile
Start under the left eye. Draw one big U smile across to the bottom of the right eye.
Step 5: The windscreen
Start on the rail. Draw a windscreen leaning back: up, a short flat top, and down to the rail again.
Step 6: Two seats
Behind the windscreen, start on the rail. Draw a seat hump up and down to the rail. Add another.
Step 7: Outboard motor
At the back, draw a rounded motor. From under it, draw a thin leg down into the waves.
Step 8: Racing stripe
Just above the waves, draw a thin stripe along the hull, from the front edge to the back edge.
Step 9: Splash of spray
Behind the leg, draw 3 spray arcs leaping up and back out of the waves, each shorter than the last.
Tip The spray shows the boat is going fast.
Step 10: Yellow stripe, sky windscreen
Colour the stripe yellow and the windscreen sky blue. Leave the seats white.
Step 11: Grey motor, blue sea
Colour the motor and its leg grey, and the sea blue from the waves down to the bottom.
Step 12: Red hull
Go over your lines. Colour the hull red, going around the eyes and the stripe. Leave the eyes white.

Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a speedboat, drawn by you.
