How to Draw a Chariot
Draw a chariot in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: one big wheel.
Step 1: One big wheel
In the middle draw a big round wheel. Draw a second circle just inside it for the rim.
Tip Draw round a bowl or a roll of tape to get a good circle.
Step 2: Hub and spokes
Draw a small circle in the middle. Add 4 straight lines through it, like cutting a pizza.
Step 3: The floor
Behind the top of the wheel draw a long thin flat plank, sticking out on both sides.
Step 4: Curved body
Start on the plank's left end. Go up a little, sweep up to a tall front, stop on the plank.
Tip The front is tall and curls forward, the back is low and open.
Step 5: The rail
Start on the low back edge. Draw a line just under the top edge, stop on the tall front.
Step 6: Round badge
In the middle of the tall front draw 1 small circle for a shiny badge.
Step 7: Pole and yoke
Start under the plank's front. Draw a long pole sloping down, stop near the ground. Add a short bar.
Tip The horses are tied to the bar. It rests on the ground when they are away.
Step 8: The ground
Start left of the chariot. Draw a straight ground line under the wheel, stop past the pole.
Step 9: Gold trim
Colour the rail band, the plank and the round badge yellow.
Step 10: Red body
Colour the rest of the body red, around the gold badge and under the rail.
Step 11: Brown wheel and pole
Colour the wheel, the hub, the pole and the bar brown.
