How to Draw a Firefighting Plane
Draw a firefighting plane in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long fat body.
Step 1: Long fat body
Start at the nose on the left. Draw a long flat top to the tail, then a fat belly back.
Tip The back end slopes up to a small blunt tail.
Step 2: Tall tail
On the back of the top line, draw a tall fin leaning back. Add a flat tail wing across it.
Step 3: Big wing
Start above the top line. Draw a long wing down and back, past the belly, to a round tip.
Tip Rub out the body lines inside the wing.
Step 4: Far wing
Above the body, behind the big wing, draw the other wing peeking up. Make it shorter.
Step 5: Engine and propeller
Start on the wing's front edge. Draw a pill engine, stop on the edge. Add a hub and 2 blades.
Tip The propeller pulls the plane through the air.
Step 6: Cockpit windows
On top of the nose, draw a window band. Add 1 short line to make 2 windows.
Step 7: Sheet of water
Start on the belly behind the wing. Draw falling water down, 3 drips, and stop on the belly.
Tip The water spreads wider as it falls.
Step 8: Ground and trees
Draw a ground line across the bottom. Stand 3 pointy trees on it, one under the water.
Tip Each tree is 3 zigzag layers on a short trunk.
Step 9: Little fire
Between the trees, draw a flame on the ground. Draw a smaller flame inside it.
Step 10: Puff of smoke
Above the flame, draw a puff of smoke: 3 round bumps joined into one little cloud.
Step 11: Blue water, grey engine
Colour the water and windows blue. Colour the engine, propeller and smoke grey.
Step 12: Yellow body
Colour the plane's body yellow, around the windows, engine and wing. Colour the small flame yellow too.
Step 13: Red wings, orange fire
Colour both wings, the fin and the tail wing red. Colour the big flame orange.
Step 14: Green trees
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 trees green and their trunks brown. All done!
