How to Draw a Slug
Draw a slug in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
On the left, below the middle, draw a soft round blob like a squashed egg. Leave the right empty.
Tip The head is about as big as a plum.
Step 2: Eye stalks
On top of the head draw 2 tall stalks leaning back, each with a ball on top. Add black dots.
Tip A slug's eyes sit on tall stalks like 2 lollipops.
Step 3: Smile
On the front of the head draw a wide smile low down, dipping and curving up.
Step 4: The long body
From the head draw a hump up and over, then a long slope down to a pointed tail.
Step 5: The foot
Under the head draw the long flat foot along the ground to the right, narrowing to the pointed tail.
Tip Long and flat like a slipper.
Step 6: Saddle and breathing hole
On the hump draw a gentle U from the head up to the back line. Add a small oval inside.
Step 7: The ground
Draw 1 long straight ground line under the foot, head to tail. Flick 2 grass blades up at each end.
Step 8: Pink cheek
Go over your lines. Colour a pink cheek at the end of the smile.
Step 9: Yellow slug
Colour the whole slug yellow around the cheek. Leave the eyeballs and 5 round spots white.
Step 10: Brown spots, green grass
Colour the 5 spots brown and the grass blades green.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a slug, drawn by you.
