How to Draw a Slinky Dog Toy
Draw a slinky dog toy in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left, draw a big round head, a little wider than tall. Leave room on the right.
Step 2: Big eyes
Draw 2 big round eyes, each with a black pupil and a little white shine.
Tip Eyes go in the middle of the head, big, with a shine.
Step 3: Snout and smile
Under the eyes, draw a round snout with a black nose. From the nose, draw down to a w smile.
Step 4: The ears
On each top corner of the head, draw a long floppy ear hanging down, with a smaller shape inside.
Step 5: Chest and bottom
Under the head, draw a round chest block. Leave a gap, then draw a round dog bottom on the right.
Step 6: Coil spring
Between the chest and bottom, draw 5 tall thin ovals in a row, overlapping, like a stretched coil spring.
Step 7: Two legs
Draw a ground line. Add a leg under the chest and one under the bottom, each with a round foot.
Tip Each foot is a plump round pad flat on the ground.
Step 8: The far legs
Add the 2 far legs peeking out, a bit thinner: one behind the front leg, one before the back leg.
Step 9: The tail
From the top of the bottom, draw a thin banana tail curving up to a round tip and back down.
Step 10: Tan snout, grey spring
Colour the snout and the ear insides tan, then colour every loop of the spring grey.
Step 11: Colour it brown
Colour the rest of the dog brown, around the tan snout, ear insides and grey spring. Leave the eyes white.
