How to Draw a Synthesizer
Draw a synthesizer in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
In the top half of your paper draw a long rounded box, nearly as wide as the page.
Tip A synthesizer is an electronic keyboard covered in knobs and sliders.
Step 2: Two eyes
On the top, in the middle, draw 2 round eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The keys
Along the bottom of the body draw a long flat strip. Add lines straight down across it for keys.
Step 5: Black keys
Between the white keys draw short black keys hanging from the top, in groups of 2 and 3.
Step 6: Screen and sliders
On the top left draw a small screen. Under it draw 4 short lines with a little square on each.
Step 7: Knobs and buttons
On the top right draw a row of 4 round knobs. Add 3 little square buttons under them.
Step 8: Two legs
Under the body draw 2 tall straight legs, one near each end.
Step 9: Cables and ground
From the right end wiggle 2 cables down. Draw a ground line under the legs, stopping under the cables.
Step 10: Sky and yellow
Colour the screen sky blue and the sliders and buttons yellow.
Step 11: Pink and red
Colour the cheeks pink and the 4 knobs red.
Step 12: Slate body
Colour the body and legs slate grey, going round the face, keys, screen, knobs, sliders and buttons.
Tip Leave the eyes and the white keys white.
Step 13: Colour the keys
Go over your lines. Colour the black keys black, around the white keys. Bleep bloop!
