How to Draw a Shipwreck
Draw a shipwreck in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hull.
Step 1: The hull
Start at the left tip. Draw the deck down to a boxy cabin, then round the belly to the tip.
Tip Like a big banana with a boxy cabin at the back.
Step 2: Broken mast and sail
Start mid-deck. Draw a pole up to a jagged snapped top, with a ragged sail scrap on its right.
Step 3: Front pole
Start on the front tip. Draw a short fat pole poking forward to a round end, then back.
Step 4: The stripe
Start under the front tip. Draw a stripe to the back, and a deck line across the cabin.
Step 5: Portholes
Draw 3 round portholes in a row on the stripe, and a round window high on the cabin.
Step 6: Hole in the hull
Low on the hull's front, draw a jagged hole: a ring of short zigzag lines, like a broken egg shell.
Step 7: Sea floor
Low down, draw a long wavy sand line from edge to edge under the hull. Add a round rock.
Step 8: Seaweed
Start on the sand each side. Draw a tall wiggly seaweed blade up to a point, back to the sand.
Step 9: Little fish
Up left, draw a little fish: a pointed egg on its side with a triangle tail and a dot eye.
Step 10: Bubbles and water top
Draw 3 bubbles rising up from the snapped mast. High up, draw one bumpy water line from edge to edge.
Step 11: Orange fish, wooden hull
Colour the fish orange, and the hull and front pole light brown. Leave the portholes, window and hole white.
Step 12: Green seaweed, red band
Colour the seaweed green, and the band under the deck red around the portholes.
Step 13: Brown cabin, black hole
Colour the cabin, the mast and the torn sail brown, the hole black and the rock dark grey.
Step 14: Sand and sea
Colour the sand yellow and the water blue around everything, leaving the bubbles white. Your shipwreck is done!
