How to Draw a Shape Rocket

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a shape rocket in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a tall rectangle.

Print

  1. Step 1: A tall rectangle

In the middle of your paper, draw a tall rectangle standing up for the body, 2 times taller than wide.

Tip This rocket is built from shapes: a rectangle, triangles and a circle!

  2. Step 2: A triangle nose

On top of the rectangle, draw a triangle nose cone, corner to corner, with its point in the middle.

  3. Step 3: Circle window and eyes

Near the top of the rectangle, draw a round window with 2 round eyes inside, black dots in each.

  4. Step 4: A smile

Under the eyes draw a small U smile, starting under the left eye and stopping under the right eye.

  5. Step 5: Fins and band

Draw a triangle fin at each bottom corner, starting partway up the side. Add a thin band between the fins.

  6. Step 6: Launch pad

Under the rocket draw a flat launch pad, a bit wider than the body, on a long ground line.

  7. Step 7: Sparkle stars

Draw 4 sparkle stars around the rocket, 2 on each side, not touching it.

  8. Step 8: Grey pad, yellow stars

Colour the launch pad grey and the stars yellow.

  9. Step 9: Blue fins, sky window

Colour the fins and the band blue, and the window sky blue, going around the face. Keep the eyes white.

  10. Step 10: Red rocket

Colour the body and nose cone red, going around the window and band. Your shape rocket is done!
