How to Draw a Sea Snake
Draw a sea snake in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
On the left of your paper draw a big round head, like an egg on its side.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the long body.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: Nostrils and smile
Under the eyes dot 2 tiny nostrils. Start under the left eye, draw a wide smile, stop under the right.
Step 4: Forked tongue
From the middle of the smile draw a thin tongue down past the chin. Split the end into 2 points.
Step 5: Wavy body
Start on the right cheek. Draw a long wavy body, down then up. End it in a wide flat paddle.
Tip Fattest by the head, thinnest just before the paddle.
Step 6: Five bands
Draw 5 bands along the body. Each band is 2 short lines straight across, a finger apart.
Tip Space them out evenly, like rings on a sock.
Step 7: Sea floor
Draw a straight line across the bottom of the paper, edge to edge. Add 3 seaweed blades growing up.
Step 8: Water and bubbles
Near the top draw 2 short wavy lines. Draw 3 bubbles rising from the head: small, bigger, biggest.
Step 9: Sky blue snake
Go over your lines, then colour the head and body sky blue around the bands. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Navy bands, red tongue
Colour the 5 bands navy blue and the tongue red.
Step 11: Sandy floor
Colour the sand under the line a sandy yellow. Your sea snake is ready to swim!
