How to Draw a Ghost Crab
Draw a ghost crab in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: boxy body.
Step 1: Boxy body
In the middle draw a box with soft corners, a little wider than tall, with a gently rounded bottom edge.
Tip A ghost crab is square: a little box on legs.
Step 2: Tall eye stalks
From the top of the box draw 2 tall stalks up, each ending in a round eye with a shine.
Tip The eyes stand up on stalks like 2 periscopes.
Step 3: Happy face
Low on the box, in the middle, draw a small U smile.
Step 4: Top legs
High on each side of the box, draw a leg out to a knee, then thinner down to a point.
Step 5: Two more legs
Under it draw another leg each side, out to a lower knee and down to a point closer in.
Step 6: Bottom legs
Draw 2 more legs each side, lower and shorter. All 8 points end level, like feet on the ground.
Step 7: Big and small claws
Top left: an arm up to a big fat mitten claw. Top right: a thinner arm to a smaller claw.
Tip One claw is bigger, like a real ghost crab. Notch the tips.
Step 8: Beach and burrow
Draw a sand line across under the feet. Between the legs, draw a low mound with a hole in it.
Step 9: Cream crab, pink cheeks
Colour a pink cheek each side of the smile, then the crab pale cream around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Sandy beach, dark hole
Colour the beach and the mound sand, and the burrow hole black. Go over your lines!
