How to Draw a Sea Monster
Draw a sea monster in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bean head.
Step 1: The bean head
Top left, draw a fat bean head. Start under the chin, go round the nose, stop at the back.
Tip Leave the bean open underneath: the neck joins on there.
Step 2: Eye and smile
Draw one big round eye with a black dot and a shine. Add a nostril dot and a long smile.
Step 3: The water line
Low down, draw a straight water line. Start near the left side and stop near the right side.
Tip Leave room below the line for the water.
Step 4: The long neck
From the chin, curve a line down to the water. Draw another from the back of the head.
Tip The neck gets wider as it goes down.
Step 5: The big hump
Right of the neck, start on the water line and draw a big hump, back down to the water.
Step 6: The small hump
Further right, draw a smaller hump, starting and stopping on the water line.
Step 7: The tail tip
On the far right, start on the water line and draw a pointy tail curling up, back to the water.
Step 8: Neck spikes
Down the back of the neck draw 3 pointy spikes, each starting and stopping on the neck.
Step 9: Hump spikes
On top of the big hump draw 3 more spikes, each starting and stopping on the hump.
Step 10: Ripples
Under the water line draw 5 short curved ripples, spread out across the water.
Step 11: Blue water
Go over your lines. Colour the water blue, from the water line down to the bottom of the paper.
Step 12: Teal monster
Colour the head, neck, humps and tail teal. Leave the eye white.
Step 13: Purple spikes
Colour all 6 spikes purple. Your sea monster is done!
