How to Draw a Sea Cucumber
Draw a sea cucumber in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long body.
Step 1: The long body
Across the middle of your paper draw one long soft cucumber lying down, round at both ends.
Tip Make it about 3 times as long as it is tall, with a flat tummy underneath.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Near the front end draw 2 big eggy eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Draw a flat-topped U under the eyes, its tongue starting and stopping on the sides. Add 2 cheeks beside it.
Step 4: Tentacle crown
Round the front end draw a frilly crown with 5 round tentacles, starting and stopping on the body line.
Tip A sea cucumber sweeps food into its mouth with these tentacles.
Step 5: Bumps on the back
From above the eyes to the back end draw 5 soft bumps, each starting and stopping on the back line.
Step 6: Spots
Draw 4 small round spots on the side of the body, spread out between the face and the back end.
Step 7: Sand and bubbles
Draw a sand line under the body from edge to edge. Add 3 bubbles floating up above the tentacles.
Step 8: Sandy floor
Colour the floor under the sand line sandy yellow, right to the edges and the bottom of your paper.
Step 9: Yellow crown, spots
Colour the tentacle crown and the 4 spots yellow.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, tongue
Colour the tongue and the 2 cheeks pink.
Step 11: Orange body
Go over your lines. Colour the body and bumps orange, around the spots, cheeks and mouth. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue bubbles, red mouth
Colour the 3 bubbles water blue. Colour the mouth red, around the pink tongue. Your sea cucumber is done!
