How to Draw a Pit Bull Sitting

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a pit bull sitting in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: broad head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Broad head

Draw a big wide head, like a soft box with round corners. Make it wider than tall.

Tip A pit bull has a broad, strong head.

  2. Step 2: Rose ears

On each top corner draw a small ear that folds over sideways. Add a fold line in each.

Tip The ears are small and soft, not pointy.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Draw 2 big oval eyes, wide apart. Inside each, colour a black dot, leaving a white shine.

Tip Keep the eyes level with each other.

  4. Step 4: Short muzzle

Start on the chin. Draw a wide arch between the eyes. Stop on the chin. Add a triangle nose.

Tip The nose sits just under the top of the arch.

  5. Step 5: Wide smile

From the nose draw a short line down to a wide smile. Hang a round tongue from its middle.

Tip The smile is almost as wide as the muzzle.

  6. Step 6: Plain collar

Under the chin draw a curved band from one side of the neck to the other.

Tip The band is the same width all the way along.

  7. Step 7: Front legs

From each end of the collar draw a strong leg straight down to a wide paw, then back up.

Tip The legs are thick at the shoulder and a little thinner above the paw.

  8. Step 8: Strong chest

Between the legs draw a wide w. Start on one leg and stop on the other.

Tip The w shows the strong chest muscles.

  9. Step 9: Thighs and back paws

Start on each front leg. Draw a round thigh, then a back paw. Stop on the ground.

Tip The paw pokes out a little past the thigh.

  10. Step 10: Short tail

Behind the right thigh draw a short tail that curves up to a thin tip.

Tip The tail is thick where it starts.

  11. Step 11: Ground and toes

Draw a ground line under the paws. Add 2 short toe lines on each of the 4 paws.

Tip Start each toe line on the ground.

  12. Step 12: Cream and pink

Colour the muzzle and the chest patch cream. Colour the tongue pink.

  13. Step 13: Fawn coat

Colour the rest of the coat light brown: head, ears, legs, tummy, thighs and tail. Leave the eyes white.

  14. Step 14: Collar and nose

Colour the collar blue and the nose black.
