How to Draw a Scorpion
Draw a scorpion in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big bun head.
Step 1: Big bun head
Below the middle, draw a big round head, wider than tall, like a bun.
Tip Make it big: the face is the star.
Step 2: Tummy and tail
Draw an egg tummy behind the head. Curl a fat tail from its top over to a round stinger.
Tip The tail curls up over the back, not down.
Step 3: Big eyes
Across the head's middle, draw 2 big round eyes almost touching, with a dark pupil and shine in each.
Step 4: Big smile
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile and stop under the right eye. Add 2 round cheeks.
Step 5: Two pincer claws
From each top corner of the head, draw an arm out to an elbow, then up to a bean claw.
Tip The claws are like 2 mittens with a bite taken out.
Step 6: Top legs
Under each arm, draw a bent leg: out to a round knee, then down to a point.
Step 7: Middle legs
Beside the eyes and cheeks, draw 2 more bent legs each side: out to a knee, then down.
Step 8: Bottom legs
Under the cheeks, draw the last leg each side: down and out to a knee, then down to a point.
Tip 4 legs on each side, plus the 2 claws.
Step 9: Body rings
Draw 3 curved lines across the tummy and 4 short lines across the tail, each from edge to edge.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 round cheeks pink.
Step 11: Orange scorpion
Colour the head, tummy, tail, stinger ball, arms, claws and legs orange around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Black stinger
Go over your lines. Colour the little stinger hook black.
