How to Draw a Scientist
Draw a scientist in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: Face and glasses
Draw 2 small eyes, a U nose, a smile and eyebrows. Add round glasses joined in the middle.
Step 3: Wild hair
From the left side of the head, draw 5 round tufts over to the right. Add a curved hairline below.
Step 4: Neck and lab coat
Draw 2 neck lines. From them, draw round shoulders and a coat down to the knees, leaving 2 arm gaps.
Step 5: Lapels and buttons
From each neck line, draw a line down to a V. Add a line to the hem and 2 buttons.
Step 6: Long sleeves
From each shoulder, draw a long sleeve down to a cuff. Bend the left one across the coat.
Step 7: Mitten hands
On the right, draw a mitten hanging from the cuff. On the left, draw a mitten pointing in.
Step 8: Test tube
From the left hand, draw 2 lines up to a flat top line. Add a line across for the potion.
Step 9: Trousers, shoes and ground
From the coat hem, draw 2 trouser legs down to a shoe each, toes out. Add a ground line.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Green potion, teal shirt
Colour the potion green and the shirt teal. Leave the coat and sleeves white.
Step 12: Grey hair, black shoes
Colour the wild hair and trousers grey, and the shoes black. Go over your lines!
