How to Draw a Schnauzer
Draw a schnauzer in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big square head.
Step 1: Big square head
Near the top, draw a big square head with round corners and a flat top.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.
Step 2: Folded ears
From each top corner, draw a small triangle ear folded down beside the head, ending lower on the head.
Tip Schnauzer ears are neat little triangles folded forward.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Just above the head's middle, draw 2 egg eyes, a gap apart. Add a black dot and shine in each.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Under the eyes, draw a wide square snout with round corners. Add a black triangle nose on top.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose, draw a short line down to a little w smile. Hang a U tongue from the middle.
Step 6: Beard and eyebrows
From the snout's sides, draw a long fluffy beard hanging below the head. Add a bushy brow over each eye.
Tip The long beard and bushy eyebrows are what make a schnauzer.
Step 7: The body
From each lower corner of the head, draw a big C curve down and out. Join the ends across.
Step 8: Collar and tag
Under the chin, draw 2 sagging curves from the left body line, stopping on the right. Hang a round tag.
Step 9: Front legs
From the collar, draw 2 long legs down to round paws. Add a thin upside-down U between them, and toes.
Step 10: Back paws and tail
Draw a hill paw at each bottom corner, with 2 toe lines. Add a stub tail on the right side.
Step 11: The ground
Draw a long ground line under all the paws, from past the left paw to past the right paw.
Step 12: Grey fur
Colour the head, body and tail grey. Leave the eyes, eyebrows, beard, chest and front legs white.
Step 13: Dark ears and paws
Colour the 2 ears and the 2 back paws dark grey, so the light beard and legs stand out.
Step 14: Pink tongue, red collar
Colour the tongue pink and the collar red.
