How to Draw a Jug
Draw a jug in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim and spout.
Step 1: The rim and spout
Above the middle draw a wide flat oval for the top. Pull its left end up into a pointed spout.
Step 2: The jug
Start under the spout. Curve in to a neck, round a fat belly and up to the oval's right end.
Tip Keep it narrow under the rim and fat low down, like a pear.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the belly, a little below the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: The handle
On the right draw a big fat C handle, looping out from under the rim and back in lower down.
Step 6: Water inside
Inside the rim draw a gentle smile curve for the water, starting and ending on the back of the rim.
Step 7: Drops
Draw 2 little water drops falling from the spout.
Step 8: Shadow, ground, sparkles
Draw a thin oval shadow under the jug, a ground line out from each side, and a sparkle each side.
Step 9: Sky water and drops
Go over your lines, then colour the water inside the rim, the spout and the drops sky blue.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow under the jug grey.
Step 11: Blue jug
Colour the jug and the handle blue, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your jug is full!
